Java problems

Active Java bug reports:

• Oracle bug 8014369: Intermittently only some components refresh (version 1) and Intermittently only some components refresh (Version 2)
• Apple bug 13850046: Java applet won't run first time on Safari (OK on Firefox)
• Oracle submission #9002590 In TextField can only select text visible or to the left

Problems on Java 7 on Safari that are the behavior desired by Apple (note: these have not yet been converted to signed applets to accommodate Java 7 update 51)

• Local file reading by signed applets blocked by Safari
• Local file writing by signed applets blocked by Safari

Sun Java Bugs that are fixed in regular release versions (note: not all have been converted to signed applets to accommodate Java 7 update 51)

• InvocationTargetException when running signed applet locally with 7u45
• Pressing the Enter key results in an alert tone beep when focus is TextField
• Applets on MacOS over 800 pixels high have display problems
• Sun JRE 1.5 beta 1 ignores Netscape Object Signing
• ReDisplay
• HotSpot crashes swapping panels
• Canvas retains previous screen pixels when moved to new location
• Component Refresh slow with Sun JVM
• Hotspot Crash (not Tablet PC specific, fixed with JRE 7 build 02)
• Focus Problem that Began with Java 1.7 build 17
• setVisible doesn't work in Java 1.7 build 25
• Java TextField Focus Not Set in Some Environments
• Java applets cause Firefox process to persist after exit
• Checkbox Item Events are Double for Pen Input on Tablet PCs

Inactive Java bug report:

• Oracle bug 9000043:  Hanging or can't type into Java TextField after signed Java applet on Macintosh
• Oracle bug 6494419:  MenuItems in Choice component cut off using Firefox
• Oracle bug 5106832:  TextField.setText fails to fire textValueChanged
